About

Laura Baker is an American endurance athlete and running coach. Certified in the M.O.V.E.! Goal Achievement method, as well as Road Runners Club of America, and Lumia Life Coaching, Laura coaches female-identifying runners and aspiring runners looking to pursue meaningful goals by creating healthy routines, building confidence, and tapping into their underlying motivation and resilience.

Laura's human-centered approach calls on over 30 years of endurance experience. She is a three-time Boston Marathon finisher (qualifying in every age category eligible) and accomplished trail runner having completed multiple self-supported ultra runs, including the 48-mile Rim2Rim2Rim of the Grand Canyon and 165-mile Tahoe Rim Trail. Laura's outdoor adventure addiction has led her to climb the highest peak in the continental U.S. (twice), swim with sharks in Hawaii, ice climb in New Zealand, whitewater raft in Canada, bike the Southern California coast to the Mexico border, and compete in Adventure Races, aquathons, and triathlon relays.

Faster in her 40s than she was in her 20s, Laura has overcome major mental setbacks and debilitating injuries, all while balancing a professional life with a public service career spanning environmental law, nonprofit leadership, and academia. The highest highs and the lowest lows from Laura's diverse athletic and professional experiences inform her coaching philosophy. And the courage, determination, and resilience to come back stronger after each setback are embedded in the Journal, through a guided practice in self-compassion, accountability, reflection, gratitude, and grit.
